Hello, voter! Below, find everything you need to know to make your voice heard — including how to register, update your registration, get a mail ballot, vote early, and vote on Election Day.
Registering to vote: You can register in person on Election Day (November 3) at the same time you vote. To register by mail, or to update your registration, print out the voter registration card form and return it to your town’s municipal clerk by October 13.
How to vote by mail: All Maine voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot! Request your absentee ballot online or call your town’s municipal clerk. (Note: Absentee ballot requests are open August 3 to October 29 only.)
Your mail ballot must be received by 8:00 pm on Election Day (November 3). Many more voters are expected to use mail ballots this year, so make sure you leave plenty of time to request and return your ballot!
Voting on Election Day: You can register and vote on Election Day, November 3! Polls open between 6:00 am and 10:00 am depending on your location. All polls close at 8:00 pm.
You are not required to show ID to vote in Maine, unless you are also registering to vote at the same time.
